Release notes for ircu2.10.02
These are the release notes for ircu2.10.02.
This release is a beta release - in that it is not yet know how stable
it is. Please compile with -g and give coder-com feedback asap.
This release has a lot of new features and changes, it contains over 60 patches.
Here are the most important changes in order of importance:

Lots and lots of bug fixes and code optimizations. More

Modeless +channels (channels starting with a '+') are added back in. More

New commands CPRIVMSG and CNOTICE: Private messages within the channel
context. More info.

PART now allows a comment. More info.

A failing NICK change (for instance when the nick is already in use) will
not cause the nick-flood limiter to be triggered anymore.

The possibility to set local "G-lines" (which is a contradiction
since 'G' means Global). More

Invited users now also can join through a channel limit (+l).

Channel service bots with umode +k set (i.e., X/W) will not show the channels
they are on anymore in a /WHOIS X.

Channel service bots (umode +k) can not accidentally be killed anymore.

A channel limit can now be seen from outside the channel (with /MODE #channel).

The release now compiles clean with glibc (as shipped with for instance
RedHat 5.0 linux). More info.

The interface to bind to, can now be specified on the command line. More

Its now standard allowed to connect 4096 local clients (assuming your kernel
is patched to support this too).

Hopefully all reported problems related the the configuration script have
been solved. Please mail me when any problem remains.

NOTE is completely removed.

FreeBSD should now produce core dumps again when crashing.
